If bulky DSLR haven’t suited your needs and favoritism till yet, then renowned Imaging brand Olympus has something unique to offer all photo enthusiasts. With Pen Series EP3 DSLR Camera, Olympus has changed heavy DSLR camera to a compact size, defined with a new name – Micro four third cameras.

Olympus Pen Series EP3 Micro four third camera means producing 4:3 Image ratio, abandoning the use of Mirror and pentaprism in the camera and including the two basic DSLR functionalities – Interchangeability of lens and Manual operations.

EP3 DSLR Camera is solid metal design than a typical plastic body, with classic smooth surface which in the first view may give you a retro look of 60s. Despite of the metal structure, this DSLR is far lighter than other hefty DSLR camera, weighing around 370gms.

Olympus Pen Series EP3 DSLR camera is designed for those photo fanatics who seek great image quality in a lighter and smaller prototype.  The Camera sports Zuiko Lens powered by dual core processor for High speed Live MOS sensor and 12.3 Million Pixels resolution.

The inclusion of TruePic VI Image Processing Engine makes it little faster than previous designs and also provides better images quality. That means it checks focus 120 times per second and the dual core processor ensures that the image processing is quickest, decreasing the blackout time after each click.

While there has quite a similarity between EP1 and EP2, the biggest physical addition in Olympus Pen Series EP3 DSLR camera is a built in Flash which is like a pop up element on the top of the camera.

Removable Hand grip is another big physical change which is now held by large screw and also allows customizable removal and swapping as per the user’s choice.

The Camera comes with three modes of stabilization providing the crispier and sharpest image possible. It offersminimal Image noise with huge ISO Range of 200 – 12800 providing plenty of depth and sharpness to the overall image.

Press the dedicated video button to shoot 1080 60i HD video in ACVHD or AVI formats which is good but can’t be called great. In short, you can’t depend on the camera for professional footage.

Moving on to the shooting modes, Olympus EP3 DSLR Camera comes with 23 different Auto settings which may bug you while trawling through the most appropriate one. There are 10 art filters including Black & white, Pop Art, soft focus and pinhole which add unique effects to your shots.

This DSLR camera accompanies Lithium Ion battery and ACK-E8 AC adapter. One full battery charge can capture 330 Still shots and can fetch approx. 1.5 hrs of Movie recording.
